Breweries, Bottleshops & Beaus: 5 Charlotte Date Night Spots for Beer-Lovers
Feb 07, 2018
Valentine's Day is right around the corner! With candy hearts and red roses everywhere, it can be overwhelming to pick the perfect spot for a special date night for yourself and a fellow beer lover. The standard dinner-and-a-movie date can be a bit cliche, so we've put together a list of restaurant and bar alternatives to spice up your next romantic outing.
From breweries to bottle shops, there's so many great options to grab a drink, whether it's a first date or your fiftieth. Here are five of our favorite spots to visit for your next beer-centric date night.
Where: Belmont | 933 Louise Ave. Ste. 105, Charlotte, NC 28204
Vibe: While the taproom and patio at Catawba are pretty large, they make it easy to find a place of your own. Grab a table to yourselves away from the crowd or grab a seat at the bar and catch up with your date over a cold one.
Drink to try: Limited-release Evening Joe Coffee Blonde, because it's like going to a coffee shop, but with beer.
Where: South End | 2911 Griffith St. B, Charlotte, NC 28203
Vibe: Hyde Brewing's tap room is bright, airy, and filled with tons of beautiful greenery. Their space is shared with The Suffolk Punch, which makes it a great spot to grab wine, cocktails, or coffee if you're looking to venture out from beer. There's even food if you want to grab a bite!
Drink to try: Blue Daisy, because who said dates need to involve real flowers?
Where: NoDa | 2921 N. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28206
Vibe: NoDa's location is the perfect combination of indoors and outdoors space. Stop by for a daytime date to play a little corn hole or disc golf before making your way inside to the taproom.
Drink to try: Coco Loco Porter, because what's a date without a little chocolate?
Where: NoDa | 3306-B N. Davidson St. Charlotte, NC 28205
Vibe: This is quite possibly the cutest coffee-shop-slash-bottle-shop that ever existed. The space is intimate and romantic, which makes for the perfect spot to cuddle up next to your beau.
Drink to try: El Comado: Chinola, because it's a uniquely fruity beer with tons of character. For any non-beer drinkers, stop by on Wednesday's from 6:30 to 8:30 PM for Wine Down Wednesdays. Enjoy a sample of five wines for $7 or half-priced bottles of wine.
Where: Plaza Midwood | 1906 Commonwealth Ave., Charlotte, NC 28205
Vibe: Legion Brewing is the perfect hometown brewery to take someone on a date. Large enough to be able to grab tabl, but just small enough to have a private conversation. It's the perfect relaxed atmosphere for a casual date.
Drink to try: Stay a Little Lager (Hoppy Lager), because that's what you're going to want to do when you're date is going so well.
