Work For Your Beer is all about fitness, beer, and most importantly, community! We love highlighting members of Charlotte’s beer fitness community, and of course, that includes the wonderful instructors that make beer fitness classes possible.
If you've been to a Sip & Sweat class, there's a chance you've had the pleasure of working out under the instruction of Victoria (Tori) Lord.
She's the optimistic instructor who's guaranteed to make you sweat! With a rockin' playlist and words of encouragement, she'll make sure you work for your beer every time.

How long have you been teaching fitness classes? 6 Years
What made you want to start teaching? I took a Kinesiology course at my undergrad institute (Penn State) and realized I loved teaching and how to train the body. From there, I switched my whole career path (at the time I was studying accounting).
How did you first find out about Work For Your Beer? My roommate from Penn State, Alicia Thomas, started the company!
What made you want to be a part of the Work For Your Beer community? I think it’s a brilliant concept. Fitness doesn’t always have to be a burden or something you “have” to do. It can be fun, social, and open up new opportunities.
Where do you currently teach, in addition to Work For Your Beer classes? UNCC
What do you want people to know about UNCC classes? If you are a student or Faculty/Staff at UNCC, you should be coming to our classes! Our instructors are wonderful and you definitely get the best bang for your buck!
What’s your favorite part of teaching Sip & Sweat? Everyone that attends, shows up ready to work! They do it with a smile on their face and they push themselves. It makes my job easier knowing they want to be there!
What has been the most challenging part of teaching Sip & Sweat for you? Whether we are going to work out inside or outside!
What motivates you to work out? I think the overall feeling I get after the work out. Some days or work outs are harder, but that sense of accomplishment and knowing you just did so much good for your body is the best feeling.
What’s your go-to pump up song? There are too many choices! But I would have to say “Yeah” by Usher. It’s timeless and everyone gets pumped up.
What is your favorite type of exercise or workout? I love running, but I also like to take other instructors’ classes because I know I’m going to be challenged differently than I would challenge myself.
What’s one thing you would want to tell somebody who was considering attending a beer fitness class? Earn your beer. Work hard in the fitness class, then reward yourself
What’s your favorite beer (or ‘booch) in Charlotte? That’s a hard question. I honestly can’t go wrong with a wheat beer or cider. My favorite kombucha is Sweet Potato Pie from Lenny Boy.
