If you haven't already heard, Work For Your Beer hosted our first Blacklight Brunch Power Yoga class at The Rabbit Hole earlier this month. The venue was awesome, the upbeat vibe was on point, and the teacher amplified the experience with her energizing yoga flow and music. That teacher is Jami Crossgrove.
Jami's hope is to leave everyone who takes her classes with more than they came with, whether it's a better mindset or the ability to master a new yoga pose. You can experience Jami's instruction for yourself at next month's Blacklight Brunch Power Yoga on April 22.

How long have you been practicing yoga and what made you start practicing?
I've been consistently practicing for four years or so. A friend asked me to come to a hot yoga class with her, and from that point on, I was hooked!
How long have you been a yoga instructor?
I've been certified for almost four months.
What made you want to be a part of the Work for Your Beer community?
When I first took a Work For Your Beer class at Lenny Boy, I happened to meet Brittany Canaski, Work For Your Beer's Director of Partnerships, and learned more about what it was about. From then on, I knew once I was certified to teach, I wanted to do this.
Where do you currently teach, in addition to Work For Your Beer classes?
Currently, I do a weekly class for my company in our yoga studio. I will also be teaching a few classes at the USNWC this coming season!
What’s your favorite part of teaching yoga?
Seeing people leave class feeling refreshed and motivated to keep doing yoga. It is so nice knowing that I impacted someone’s day even just a little.
What has been the most challenging part of teaching yoga for you?
Remembering that not everyone will like my class or my teaching style, and that's okay.
What motivates you to work out?
Feeling my best! Knowing that when I do work out and eat well, I literally feel and am in a better place. I can tell that my mood and physical state of being declines when I am not being good to my body.
What is your favorite type of exercise or workout (in addition to yoga)?
I love doing circuit training, TRX, group workouts, and anything that is new, fun, and challenging.
Which is your favorite yoga pose?
Any inversion! I love being upside down -- specifically, pincha mayurasana.
What’s one thing you would want to tell somebody who was considering attending a beer yoga class?
Have an open mind and have fun!

I hope that anyone who attends my classes walks away with something, whether it be a new love for yoga, a new pose that they tried and now love, or even just a better mindset than before they came!
